- The Purpose of This Bill is to ensure the safety ofthe general public by ensuring that only licensed professionals are performing mold assessment, abatement and remediation.
- This law took effect on January 1, 2016.
- The mold assessor can not work for a mold remediation company and must be independent of remediation companies. The assessor's license was enacted in order to maintain an independent analysis of mold.
- It is the responsibility of the assessor to "clear" the project and to determine if the mold has been remediated.
- This is a Consumer Protection Law and any decisions the Department of Labor or Judges make will favor the consumer.
